Energy Exemplar is the leading provider of power market simulation software with a significant presence in Global markets. We are seeking a confident, self-motivated and professional person in the role of Power Market Consultant representing Energy Exemplar and PLEXOS in the USA.

The company has consistently grown its client base and the successful candidate will have many opportunities to influence our Market growth/ presence in and advance in market analytics and knowledge of the energy sector.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learn PLEXOS software to an advanced level
  • Set up and utilize the PLEXOS simulation model for various advanced analytical tasks
  • Design and process PLEXOS output data for reports, tables, and graphs to be provided to clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop, document, and summarize stochastic parameters for electric system simulation in PLEXOS including variable distributions and correlations for multiple parameters.
  • Utilize PLEXOS to develop advanced risk parameters for energy trading and asset evaluation.
  • Research, document, and summarize potentially rapidly-changing and complex electric energy issues significantly impacting future supply- and demand-side resources, transmission, fuel costs, emission costs, and energy use (such as electric vehicles).
  • Provide onsite consulting/training to existing customers using the software
  • Run training courses on power systems modeling and PLEXOS
  • Prepare and maintain PLEXOS user documentation, help and training materials
  • Maintain high level of US Energy Industry knowledge and latest technologies and issues
  • Interact on a frequent basis with clients at technical and project level
  • Assist customers during and post implementation of the datasets
  • Manage time and resources to meet office KPI’s and sales targets
  • Communicate with development team regarding market trends and customer requirements for the products
  • Write internal “white papers” describing the state-of-the-art in the study area
  • Competitor Analysis and research
  • Prepare and present demonstration presentations
  • Prepare and present sales demonstration presentations

Requirements

  • Previous experience and understanding of PLEXOS or similar simulation tool

  • Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills
  • A tertiary degree in Applied Mathematics, Engineering , Energy Economics or Operations Research with specialization in Power Systems an advantage

Regional Manager

Location: Adelaide, Australia


Energy Exemplar is the leading provider of power market simulation software with a significant presence in the Global market. We are seeking a confident, self-motivated and professional person in the role of Regional Manager in our Adelaide office.

The company has consistently grown its client base and the successful candidate will have many opportunities to influence business growth and advance in market analytics and knowledge of the energy sector.

This position will report to the COO (also Adelaide based) and will sell, direct, and manage PLEXOS for Power systems software and related services such as analytically-advanced consulting services using the PLEXOS market simulation software. This position will be responsible for the profitability of PLEXOS software and consulting sales and the management of PLEXOS licensing and support. The salary range is commensurate with sales and technical capability, Management experience, and educational background.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify potential users of PLEXOS software or consulting services. Establish a relationship with these individuals and sell PLEXOS and related products, services, and databases equivalent to goals established or KPI’s.
  • Hire exceptional analytical consultants (subject to corporate approval). Ensure that analysts are capable of fully utilizing PLEXOS for user support, training, and consulting assignments within 3 to 6 months of hire date.
  • Become an expert in the utilization of the PLEXOS software for energy and AS pricing forecasts in nodal and zonal markets, stochastic portfolio evaluation, variable-energy integration, and operational planning analyses.
  • Become a subject matter expert in each of the above areas and be able to fully demonstrate PLEXOS to potential clients.

  • A tertiary degree in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Energy Economics or Operations Research (or similar mathematical sciences degree). A specialisation in Power Systems will be an advantage.
  • High level of numeracy and computer and web literacy. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Candidates may be assessed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and see projects/assignments through from start to finish.

Candidate with following will have an advantage:

  • Experience and knowledge in the Australian NEM
  • Postgraduate qualification such as Masters or PhD
  • Previous experience with PLEXOS or similar simulation tool
  • Knowledge of technical software for data manipulation and analysis, and power systems software

  • Multilingual in languages
