The software simulates planned and random outages in generation, transmission and gas pipeline resources in a powerful Monte Carlo simulation framework. Various ancillary services are modelled in the purpose built Reserve class of objects. Security constrained unit commitment is solved via mixed integer programming. Parallel computing and scenario reduction techniques provide fast processing of thousands of simulated outage scenarios. The results are combined to report expected unserved energy, LOLP and other reliability metrics.
