About PLEXOS® Insights

PLEXOS Insights are content-based products that provide advanced analytics and fundamental modeling support for PLEXOS users seeking discrete packages of business capabilities. PLEXOS Insights are delivered on the PLEXOS platform marketplace.

About PLEXOS® Playbooks

Playbooks are a new type of content available in the PLEXOS Cloud Marketplace. A Playbook is a PLEXOS Cloud study packaged with pre-configured models, solution output and output analysis including BI Reports, Solution Reports, and more. A Playbook is essentially everything an analyst needs to get working fast with the PLEXOS platform.

What is a content-based product?

A content-based product is a product or service where the primary value lies in the creation, curation, and distribution of content. The content-basis for PLEXOS Insights is typically packaged data, analytics and data visualizations. The content basis for PLEXOS Playbooks is pre-configured models and scenarios that include solution outputs, analysis reports, and customizable tools.

PLEXOS Insights for Traders

PLEXOS Insights for Traders is a valuable tool for traders looking to make faster and more informed decisions. This product provides detailed price forecasts from the next day up to six months (+1 to +180 days) ahead, helping users stay ahead of market trends. With easy-to-use dashboards covering key markets like Great Britain, Germany, France, and the Netherlands, and the option to add Belgium and Austria upon request, PLEXOS Insights for Traders is ideal for traders, analysts, and brokers seeking quick, reliable insights to support their strategies.

Playbooks are also new to the PLEXOS Cloud Marketplace. A Playbook is a PLEXOS Cloud study that includes pre-configured models, solution outputs, and output analysis such as BI Reports and Solution Reports.

Our new PLEXOS Playbook for Traders brings PLEXOS Insights to the next level. It allows users to adjust forecasts based on their own assumptions, providing the flexibility to test different scenarios and create custom reports. Covering markets in Central Western Europe, including Italy, Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal, the Playbook for Traders is perfect for anyone who needs tailored insights to navigate the complexities of the energy market. With full flexibility to adjust model variables and create customized forecasts and dashboards plus integration with Excel and Excel add-ins, PLEXOS Playbook for Traders is bridging the gap between detailed modeling and rapid insights.

Our recent updates to PLEXOS Cloud deliver a range of enhancements aimed at improving your modeling experience, analytical capabilities, and administrative controls. Here’s what’s new:

Simulate

  • Easier model editing: We've introduced a new preset details panel, making it simpler for users to edit model settings and streamline the simulation process.
  • Avoid unnecessary re-runs: To prevent unnecessary use of resources, we've added a feature that stops automatic re-runs of simulations when low disk space is detected.
  • High memory VM support: For our credit-based customers, we now offer enhanced support for high memory virtual machine configurations, enabling more complex simulations.

Analytics

  • New congestion analysis tools: We’ve added new tools to analyze contingent congestion, providing deeper insights into network performance.
  • Improved charting features: Our latest update includes better charting options, like a new chart/pivot view and improved search functionality on maps.
  • Track your comparisons: You can now easily view the history of your data comparisons, helping you keep track of changes and understand trends over time.
  • Quick data refresh: With a new refresh button on BI reports and executive views, you can instantly update data, ensuring you always have the most current information.

  • PLEXOS Cloud - Contigent Congestion - Visual

Administration

  • Enhanced storage management: A new admin storage details panel gives administrators better visibility and control over storage usage.
  • Storage usage notifications: Both admin and non-admin users will now receive notifications about storage usage to help optimize the PLEXOS Cloud experience.
  • Expanded dataset information: We've added more information on datasets in the subscription page, and users can now easily download datasets and user information as needed.

CLI and Excel Add-in

  • CLI enhancements: We've added new features to the Command Line Interface, including the ability to archive, unarchive, and delete solutions. You can also download only the XML and timeseries files for a study, making data management more efficient.

Excel Add-in improvements: The Excel add-in now allows for better data loading and management, making it easier to integrate PLEXOS Cloud data into your Excel workflows.

PLEXOS 10.0 R06

The latest update, PLEXOS 10.0 R06, delivers a range of enhancements and bug fixes designed to boost performance and usability. Here’s a look at some of the key updates:

  • Inline scenario creation: We’ve made it easier for users to build scenarios directly within the platform. This new feature simplifies the modeling process, saving time and effort.
  • Improved cost calculations: With updates to gas variable and fixed cost calculations, users can now achieve more accurate modeling results. These improvements ensure your forecasts are as precise as possible.
  • New battery outputs: The enhanced battery modeling outputs provide deeper insights into energy storage performance, helping you make more informed decisions about energy management.
  • Upgraded solvers: We’ve upgraded the MOSEK and Gurobi solvers, which significantly enhance the platform's optimization capabilities. These updates allow for more efficient and effective modeling.
