The latest enhancements include the PLEXOS® Playbook for European Traders in Central Western Europe (CWE), providing a ready-to-use model for market analysis, and an upgraded Aurora on PLEXOS Cloud capability that boosts run times by up to 60%. Updates to the simulation management page on PLEXOS and data editing capabilities make it easier to manage and adjust models. Further, a new PLEXOS Playbook for European Gas Dataset published in the PLEXOS Marketplace provides important insights into the changing European gas market along with nine other playbooks.

PLEXOS Playbook for European (EU) Traders – CWE Power

The PLEXOS Playbook for European Traders in Central Western Europe (CWE) provides traders, analysts, and quantitative analysts (quants) with a powerful forecasting model covering one day ahead (D+1) up to 180 days ahead (D+180). This playbook is tailored specifically for CWE markets, including Italy, Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal, and enables users to input assumptions, re-run simulations, and customize scenarios.

With an intuitive user experience, customers can easily leverage the European dataset and PLEXOS Excel Add-in to streamline workflows. This playbook provides traders with a strong base case model and regional and country-specific data allows them to add proprietary insights and create unique dashboards for detailed analysis. Additional regions and horizons are planned, bringing more flexibility to your market assessments.

Aurora on PLEXOS Cloud

PLEXOS Cloud delivers up to a 60% improvement in run times for complex, large-scale models. This is especially valuable for users handling extensive datasets, such as those in the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) and Eastern Interconnection (EIC) regions. The PLEXOS Cloud environment also supports Aurora and PLEXOS, enabling seamless credit sharing and improving overall data management, compute flexibility, storage, and collaboration for Aurora users.

New Simulation Analytics Page

Released in October, this unified page combines admin and user views, providing a comprehensive view of active simulations, run types, engines, and settings. The layout is optimized to display more details, improve visibility into simulation progress, and reduce dropdowns, creating a streamlined experience that has quickly become a popular feature.

PLEXOS Cloud Excel Add-in

The PLEXOS Cloud Excel Add-in now offers greater flexibility for simulation and analytics tier users. Simulation tier customers can edit inputs directly in Excel, while analytics tier users have full input and output analysis capabilities. Additional features include dynamic properties, custom columns, and data validation alerts, allowing users to work with more accuracy and efficiency.

Enhanced Editing Capabilities

Recent updates allow users to edit input data directly in PLEXOS Cloud without the need to run a simulation. The updated models page organizes models by category, simplifies data selection and editing, and includes intuitive edit icons, making it easier and more efficient for both simulate and analytics tier customers to update settings.
